Games built for the five-minute gap
Some of my favorite games aren't the biggest ones. They're the ones I can open in a queue or on a short break, play a clean chunk, and close without feeling like I left something unfinished.
The trick is a self-contained loop. StackRush Bakery nails this: each shift is a complete round with a clear end. Grid strategy works too, since a single map is a satisfying unit. Anything with a natural stopping point respects your time.
What I avoid for short sessions are games with long unskippable intros, energy timers that punish stopping, or saves that only trigger at set points. There's nothing worse than losing progress because your break ended sooner than the level did.
If you mostly play in small windows, look for save-anywhere and quick rounds. A game doesn't need depth to be worth your time. Sometimes it just needs to fit neatly into the gaps in your day.
